SAFECOM Members,
On behalf of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), we are pleased to announce that the Interoperability Business Case:  An Introduction to Ongoing Local Funding document has been published on the SAFECOM Funding Resources webpage under "Sustaining Public Safety Communications Systems."
Operable and interoperable communications projects can be expensive and often require both significant capital investments and maintenance costs.  For communities to receive essential ongoing local funding, they need a strong interoperability business case to get decision-makers on board.  This document helps emergency response officials and project coordinators develop a compelling business case by presenting steps and considerations for securing interoperability funds and providing a real-world example of constructing a successful business case.
The development of this resource would not have been possible without the input, ideas, and expertise of our partners at SAFECOM and the National Council of Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (NCSWIC).  We thank them for helping decision-makers fund interoperability projects.  For questions or additional information on the Interoperability Business Case:  An Introduction to Ongoing Local Funding document, please email:  SAFECOMGovernance@cisa.dhs.gov.
Respectfully,
Eric Abdullateef
